As a mother of 3, including a set of twins and a child with special needs, I created Shoreline Educational Services in response to my own experiences with the educational system. I found that even given my background in special education, I was finding myself incredibly overwhelmed as I navigated the process as a parent. My philosophy of education has always been to help create independence and self-advocacy among both my students and families. I strive to help families and students feel confident to navigate their own educational journeys.
I graduated in 2008 from Salve Regina University with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Elementary Education and Special Education. In 2011 I graduated from Bridgewater State University with a Masters of Education in Special Education. I began my teaching career as a elementary special educator working with a diverse group of students from grades K - 5 with mild to moderate disabilities. After having my children I taught at a preschool and worked with children ages 2 to 5.
My tutoring experience ranges from elementary aged children through middle school children in all academic areas, with a stronger emphasis on reading services using the Orton-Gilligham instruction model.
